Figures of flesh seeking and brushing each other,
Until they're fixed to the ladder
In a territory of fear.
From the child to the socialized man

The eyes are merciless,
The body does not forgive.
Force imposes itself,
Over the indecisive mind.

He has been searching for relief
He has been waiting for his turn,
Stamping his feet in the wings
Among half-dark places, needing a side unseen.
Silent struggle reigning,
He's been defeated.

Ten years have gone, and all is said and done.
He can see eyes turning away,
And on the mouths, what's left unsaid.
Failing to the ladder and falling off the stage,
Into defeat, the friend is forgotten.
